Ilma: Stone and Fabric
Eight frames, two worlds. We spent time on a textured stone ledge overlooking a vast, hilly landscape. Then, we moved to a stark white studio space. Ilma owned both environments. On the stone, she rested, her gaze drifting toward the distant hills. She sat, draped in dark fabric, her hands resting on the bright ledge. The light shifted constantly—from the soft, diffused glow over the valley to the brutal, sharp backlight of the studio. In the studio, the dark sheers and flowing materials provided intense contrast against the white void. She held fabric, raised an arm, claimed the space. A study in contrast: the rugged stone meeting the perfect blankness. A body claiming space, in every light.
